About
I began my design/development journey at the age of 12, when my computers teacher taught my class some HTML. Unfortunately, he taught it as if it were the 90′s, with <table>’s and suchlike. Intrigued, I went home and learned that this was not the best way to write markup, and that there was this neat thing called CSS that was all the rage.
Since then I’ve learned a lot about the internet and computers in general, and I’d like to think that I’ve become a helpful member of the web design community, but of course there’s no way to really know for sure.
I run a blog called The Design Gnome, and my writing has been published by Six Revisions (twice),Webdesigntuts+, and others.
More recently, I’ve become quite obsessed by a web development framework called Ruby on Rails, as well as the language (Ruby) that it is written in. In fact, I’m using my newfound knowledge of Rails to build my first web application, 2byytes.
